Gallery Zella was established in 2016 with a handful of artists and artisans in an upstairs out-of-the way place.  Collectors found us, however, and thus began our odyssey to become a destination gallery for local residents as well as visitors from around the world.  Now we have over 25 Artists in 4 Showrooms in the former Citizens Bank Building at 166 Everett Street. Located in the Heart of Downtown Bryson City

Built in 1915, this newly restored historic building is a "must see landmark" filled with exquisite artwork by internationally  renowned masters, as well as regional and local favorites.

We are a family-owned business founded by husband and wife, Brian and Zella January 2016. As we begin our 9th year 2024, Zella's eldest son Larry and his wife Lorin continue the founders' traditions of personal service and affordable high quality art, gifts, and jewelry. Larry and Lorin Underhill proudly begin their art creation & curating journey January 1st 2024.

Peruse masterworks of nature & visit with resident geologist Larry Jackson Underhill as he expertly explains our collection of gems and minerals. Larry hand selects choice mineral sculptures you will artfully display.

Listen and watch long-time local master painter, Jon Houglum paint one of his master artworks & describe his inspiration.

Visit with our master collagist, Wendy Cordwell as she demonstrates her fine art of collaging.

Then explore unique jewelry designs with local artisan jewelry designer, Allyson Gernandt along with our Cherokee artists Brendon Lee and his mom Violet.  Chat with Award winning glass sculptor Bonnie Smith and view her latest glass masterworks.
